XTEC was formed in 2021 and is based in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. The primary purpose behind the creation of XTEC was to provide a source of support for a variety of customers in the field of explosives through quality training, knowledge transfer, and technical evaluation services.

The founder and owner, Jason Phillips, has over 15 years of experience with energetic materials. He earned a BS in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University (WKU) and completed graduate school through the Explosives Engineering Program at New Mexico Tech (NMT). His areas of experience include:
